Whitney Neal Photography is looking for an assistant for two to four hours per week, in-studio, and for all 2015 weddings, beginning in June, running through at least November. One must be eager to learn about the day-to-day operations of the office, and willing to help take care of various administrative duties that will allow the photographer to focus more on client relations and photography. On wedding weekends, an assistant is needed to manage equipment, operate within timelines, load film into cameras, and second shoot when necessary. Compensation will range from $8 to $10 a hour, depending on the applicant's experience. Job Duties:

  • In Studio:
    • Wrap and ship packages for wedding and portrait clients
    • Run errands to the post office, local camera store, coffee shop, etc. 
    • Organize digital files in Lightroom
    • Edit portrait sessions in Lightroom 
  • On Wedding Days:
    • Operate one digital camera
    • Carry camera equipment
    • Follow timeline
    • Load film 

Must have:

  • High-level organization skills
  • A reliable vehicle for running errands during the week and transporting oneself to weddings on weekends
  • Experience with Lightroom and/or an ability to learn quickly
  • Examples of photos that showcase an ability to operate a camera
  • A love for coffee (just kidding, but you may be picking it up quite often)

Must be:

  • A self initiator
  • Excited to learn about photography
  • Quick to provide photographer with what she needs on wedding days
  • Calm and kind under pressure
